Ana Maria Allen, M.Ed., CCC-SLP - Owner of AmeriTherapy Services

Speech Therapist

 

 

Ana Maria is the Speech-Language Pathologist at AmeriTherapy Services. She was born and raised in Ecuador, South America. Ana Maria moved to Valdosta after graduating high school in 2005. She received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Valdosta State University in July 2012. Ana Maria completed her school externship in the Madison County School District. She also completed her medical externship at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Following graduation, she began working at Colquitt Regional Medical Center where she served both the pediatric and adult populations in acute care, outpatient, home health and daycare settings.

 

Ana Maria has extensive experience in treating a wide variety of patients with aphasia, apraxia, feeding/swallowing disorders, dementia, expressive and receptive language delays, auditory processing disorders, fluency disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, developmental delays, and autism spectrum disorders. She is a certified provider of VitalStim Therapy for swallowing disorders. Ana Maria is fluent in both Spanish and English, which has been an exceptional asset for bilingual therapy. She enjoys serving the Hispanic population in the surrounding area. Ana Maria and her husband, Troy, enjoy traveling, relaxing at the beach and spending time with their family and friends.

 

Our highly trained staff has a been selected for their expertise coupled with the wonderful way they treat the patients and their families. They go the extra mile to be involved in their lives. It's not just the training that makes a great staff at AmeriTherapy, it's the desire to see others succeed that makes our team exceptional. Whitney Paulk, M.Ed, CCC-SLP

Speech Therapist

 

Whitney Paulk received her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Valdosta State University. She graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s Degree in May of 2007 and completed her Master’s Degree of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders in December 2008. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in the hospital, school, clinic, and skilled nursing settings. Whitney has had training and experience treating geriatric patients with disorders of cognition accompanied with stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia and swallowing disorders. She also has extensive experience in treating a wide variety of pediatric patients including children with expressive and receptive language delays, autism spectrum disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, auditory processing delays, fluency disorders, and pragmatic language delays. She thoroughly enjoys working with pediatric patients and building relationships with them and their families and has been working with the pediatric population since March of 2011. Whitney lives in Valdosta, GA with her husband, Merlin, her daughter, Kynslie and their yorkie, Blane. She enjoys playing with her daughter, working out, running, and spending time with her family and friends.

 

Lauren Jovovic, MA, CCC-SLP

Speech Therapist

 

Originally from Florida, Lauren graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She went on to pursue her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Florida, graduating in 2010. Focusing on pediatrics throughout school and in her career, Lauren’s primary experience is in the pediatric outpatient population with a variety of speech, language, reading, and feeding disorders. She enjoys working with children of all ages and strives to make learning fun and engaging. Lauren’s diverse experience includes but is not limited to the following areas: craniofacial disorders including cleft lip/palate, feeding/swallowing disorders, apraxia/motor speech disorders, autism spectrum disorders, down’s syndrome, fluency disorders, developmental delays, augmentative and alternative communication devices, auditory processing disorders, receptive/expressive language delays/disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, and dyslexia. Lauren moved to Valdosta in May, 2012. When not working, Lauren enjoys CrossFit, running, and spending time with her husband, Adi.  She is enthused at the successes observed at AmeriTherapy Services and continues to be committed to providing therapy that is fun, motivating, and functional to daily environments.

 

Maggie Ferguson, M.Ed, CCC-SLP

Speech Therapist

 

Born and raised in Valdosta, Maggie graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Valdosta State University in December 2009. She received the “Most Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year” from Valdosta State University for 2009-2010.  She was also the Vice President of Valdosta State University’s Student Speech, Language, and Hearing Association from 2007-2008.  She completed her medical externship at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, Florida.  She also completed her school externship with several local schools including Hahira Middle School, Dewar Elementary School, and Horizon Academy (a school for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children).  She has experience in several areas of pediatric speech therapy including stuttering, autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s, articulation delay, receptive/expressive language delay, hearing loss, and auditory processing disorder. Maggie provides speech therapy services in a variety of settings including daycares, schools, homes, and the AmeriTherapy Services clinic. Maggie also attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2006 with a minor in French.  Maggie and her husband, Michael, have two children, Jack and Bo.  In her spare time, Maggie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising, and going to the beach!

Lindsey Hobdy, M.Ed., CCC-SLP

Speech Therapist

 

Lindsey received her Bachelor's and Master's of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Valdosta State University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor's Degree in May of 2011 and completed her Master’s of Education in December of 2012. She completed her internship at Annie Belle Clark Elementary School, in Tifton, GA and her medical externship at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, GA. Lindsey began working as a speech pathologist in January 2013. She has exclusively working in private practices during her years as an independent clinician. Lindsey has worked with children and adults with speech and language difficulties and has experience with many diverse populations. She has experience working with a wide variety of pediatric populations including children with receptive and expressive language delays, autism spectrum disorder, hearing loss, articulation and phonological disorders, social/emotional needs, pragmatic language delays, fluency disorders and auditory processing delays. Lindsey is originally from Tifton, GA, where her family still resides.  She lives in Valdosta, GA with her husband, Josh. She is expecting a baby boy in the fall. She enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

Catherine Dennis

 

Catherine graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Valdosta State University in May 2015. She will begin pursuing her Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in January. Catherine is responsible for the daily operations at AmeriTherapy Services. She is characterized by a sweet and loving personality that shines through to each family as they are greeted. Catherine has past experience in childcare with a of variety ages. She is originally from St. Marys, GA where she graduated from Camden County High School. She has made Valdosta her home since 2010. Catherine enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and going to the beach and the lake in her spare time.

Cassie Cherof, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

 

Cassie graduated from Auburn University in 2009 with her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.  She taught 1st grade in Charleston, South Carolina for two years before moving back to Atlanta, her hometown, to take post-graduate prerequisites at Georgia State University for a year.  Cassie received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2014 from Brenau University.  She completed medical, adult and pediatric externships in Mexico and locally in Valdosta.  She has much experience working in pediatric school and clinical settings, as well as working with geriatrics.  Cassie is originally from Marietta, Georgia, and recently moved to Valdosta in December 2014.  She is getting married in October 2015! Cassie enjoys exercising, painting and spending time with family.

 

 

Lindsay Young, M.Ed., CF-SLP

Speech Therapist

 

Lindsay received her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Valdosta State University. She graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s Degree in May of 2013 and Magna Cum Laude with her Master’s of Education in May of 2015. She completed her internship at Cook Primary School, in Adel, GA and her medical externship at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, GA. She has experience working with pediatric and adult patients in the school, hospital, and outpatient clinic settings. Lindsay enjoys helping others communicate and building relationships with them and their families. She is from and currently resides in Adel, GA with her husband, Nicholas. She is expecting a baby girl in November. She enjoys exercising and spending time with her family and friends. Lindsay is excited to begin her Clinical Fellowship with the AmeriTherapy Services team.
